Who the West Bend Team Is

Dr. Terry Mellom is certified in the Webster Technique and Activator and is finishing her ICPA diplomat. This extra knowledge helps her provide elite care to babies, kids, and pregnant mothers.

Dr. FJ is trained in NUCCA, certified in Orthospinology, and Low-Speed Impacts, brain injury, and Traumatology. These techniques are why many medical doctors and other health care practitioners refer their chronic and most difficult patients to him.

HOW THE GSC PROCESS STARTED

Gardner Schofield Chiropractic (GSC) was founded in 2010 by Dr. F.J. Schofield and Dr. Korie Gardner Schofield. They had no idea the journey they were about to go on. After the first two years in practice, they both felt that traditional chiropractic care was NOT getting the results they thought it would when they graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. The old way just wasn’t working.

The patients that were getting better had to come in almost every week for adjustments or their pain would come right back. Then there were many patients not getting better at all. Dr. FJ’s back injury from college was coming back and Dr. Korie’s allergies from college were also coming back. They knew they needed to learn a more advanced and effective way to actually correct spinal alignment instead of just cracking backs and providing temporary relief. Because of this, Dr. FJ and Dr. Korie started attending chiropractic technique seminars but they did not find the answer they were looking for until…

In January of 2012, at an Orthospinology seminar in Snellville, Georgia. Dr. FJ and Dr. Korie received their first upper cervical-specific chiropractic adjustment from Dr. Ken Humber. He showed them how their entire body was out of alignment and he could precisely adjust the atlas bone to fix their overall alignment. Then Dr. Ken told stories of patients with vertigo, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Headaches, Migraines, chronic neck pain, back pain, sciatica, Bell’s palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, severe sciatica, stenosis, disc bulges, herniations, and more all being healed by upper cervical chiropractic. Then he explained how many of his patients would hold their adjustment for months which never happened with regular chiropractic. This was a whole new level of chiropractic and they both knew they had to learn.

It took about a year for GSC to get all the equipment and become the only upper cervical chiropractic practice in West Bend. At this time Dr. Korie would step away from the practice to raise Freddie their son and a few years later Addie their daughter.
