#155 Is Sunlight Helping or Hurting You?
We need sunlight, no doubt about it. Uncovered sunlight with no sunblock or sunscreen causes our body to create Vitamin D, an important vitamin for immune function and many other functions in the brain and body.
Is Sunlight Helping or Hurting You in West Bend?
As you get further away from the border, there is a greater incidence of Parkinson’s Disease meaning less sunlight = more Parkinson’s.
However, sunlight at the wrong time can affect your sleep patterns and be detrimental to your health.
So, for good health, try to get sunlight as soon as you wake up. Natural sunlight is always best, but if needed you can get up early and turn the lights in your house on.

Another great practice to implement to improve your health is no screen time at night for the 1 hour before bed. Screen time before bed can elevate dopamine and block melatonin. Make sure your bedroom is as dark as possible, no lights and get black out curtains. Any light can reduce melatonin secretion and have a negative effect on your sleep.
